Another way to reproduce the playback freeze

Play an album
Pause
Delete the entire album -> MM freeze before the deletion.

After kill and reopen MM, the files are always here. Log posted here:

Hello

Another freeze of the property dialog, but this time with the ok button. I just change the genre and the property dialog keep opened and the application freezed during 40 seconds between the lines 00771064 and 00771066 of the following log:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/31629593/20111111%201538.LOG

I think that is the same problem as this week when I clicked the cancel button, but different than the playback freeze.

(My version is 1459)

works fine for me here [1458]

edit: it is really weird that it does not work with [1459] agian. the player hangs after a few seconds and then even win freezes (win7). it does not matter if i use the normal or sse version of asio.

For the playback freeze:
1455 it's ok
1456 Freeze

I see in the 1456 change log that you change something about Asio

Could you please try other builds as well? That would help in understanding of what's going on.

Thanks,
Jiri

Could you please also make sure that 1440 has the problem for you? I.e., that the change is between 1439 and 1440?

Thanks,
Jiri

Yes the issue (videos and log of today) was with the 1458.

I test with the 1439 to confirm that is a regression, no problems with the 1439.

Please test also with the newest build (1458).

Output plugin is ASIO output v0.67
And the device is Asio4All V2

Tell me if you need the plugin.

No problems with another output plugin.
No problems with the 1439 and the ASIO plugin.

Which output plug-in do you use and have you tried different ones?

As writed at the beginning of this post, I try with some older versions and before 1439, no freeze. What version you change the in_wmp3.dll?

Hello Rusty.

Yes, the use case you write is correct.

I have only Media Monkey 4 and MP3 or Flac on my machine. That append only with MP3, not Flac.

Is not a particular MP3, I can reproduce easely with different mp3.

I dont reboot my machine, from this morning.

vapkse,

So from the video, it appears that the repro steps are just:
1 Play file
2 Pause file
3 Double-click paused file
--> freeze

Does this bug occur with all of your audio files? Or is it just specific formats (e.g. MP3 or OGG, or M4A)? Or is it only specific files of a specific format (e.g. only particular MP3 files)?

Does the bug occur after you reboot your machine?

Lastly, does the bug occur with MediaMonkey 3?

Thanks!

-Rusty
