I am using 1470 (with Gold).
I too have noticed Auto-playlists doing some kooky things with 4. (Under Art With Details view.) For instance, I have a "Recently Added" auto-playlist. I sort by Date Added (Z... A) and Album (A... Z). But sometimes the albums are split weirdly, e.g., track 1 taking up its own slot, the rest of the album immediately below, taking up a new slot. The problem seems to come and go, however.
Also -- and this may be a bit off-topic; if so, I apologize -- I've noticed (and posted about it regarding an earlier iteration) that, on my computer, multi-disc albums (in which each disc shares the same album name and is distinguished using the Disc# tag) sorted by Path are split into separate entries when viewed in Art With Details mode. This never happened for me in any version of MM prior to 4.
I find it unfortunate. Separating multi-disc albums by disc is a concession to CD's and CD-ripping and should not, IMO, play any part in how albums show up in MM -- nor did it prior to 4.
A couple things I discovered in the thread I started on this topic:
(1) Not everyone has this problem, which perplexes me. (Could it be a problem on my end? But... how?)
(2) I can correct the problem by clicking the "Path" field once (inverting the display order). Then the multi-disc albums only take up one slot. I can then click the "Path" field again, righting the display order, and all is well with the world -- until I move to another folder (or reselect the same folder).
