And of course the other problem is that this menu item (and all others) are disabled when the ripping process is being intialised and the ripping window is open. So again the only way I can see to make MM retry its query on Freedb is to abandon the attempt at ripping and start again. It's a pity there isn't a "Retry" button on the window that tells me of the first failure.

Thank you - it's so obvious, isn't it!

Yes I understand the problem is with Freedb. My question was: is there a way of asking MM to retry its query to Freedb without going right back to the beginning and removing the CD from the computer and starting again?

As stated many times on the forum it is a FreeDB problem.

Been getting exactly the same message myself. Only started happening in the last couple of weeks

When trying to rip CDs, I frequently (about 4 out of 5 times) get an error message <There was an error while connecting to Freedb: HTTP/1.1 500 Internal server error> The only way I can get MM to retry is to eject the CD and start again. Is there any way within MM that I can make MM retry? Clicking on the rip CD symbol next to the drive in the tree does not make MM retry Freedb but MM rips an "unknown" CD.
