Can confirm that whatever the problem was, it has gone away in 1485. Hurrah! Will keep trying it though and make notes of anything that goes wrong.

Sorry, got a bit tied up at the weekend. Yes, the tracks in question all played fine in MM itself. I will try 1485 though and see how that goes.

Just use iTunes to sync a single track to your device. After that close iTunes, open MediaMonkey and sync as normal to your device.

Similar experiences?

sorry if this has been documented elsewhere but could you elaborate a bit more on the sync a single track via iTunes workaround or re-direct me to wherever this has been discussed? thanks.

fyi, my experience with 4.0.5 is that it works as it should--except for tracks that were synced by builds 1482-84 in which case some tracks/playlists that should have been deleted, aren't. The workaround in my test environment was to delete everything from the device in MM, then sync a single track via iTunes. From that point on, everything worked as expected.

I can see that there is some errors like this:

Code: Select all

00034620	819.13354492	[7660] [(unknown facility) MediaMonkey.exe] AMDeviceStartSession (thread 6800): Could not start session: kAMDInvalidPairRecordError

Playslist name [last_starred]
SIze: 3.4 gb
Files: 500 mp3

EDIT: The playlist is viewable when I browse my iphone on MM but not in my iphone
Seems better on 1485 but, after a few sync, I was not able to view the playlist on the Iphone so I restarted it and re-syncing after that it was ok; so I think it stay a few bugs but it really better now.
I will post a debug log asap;

It means that Itunes wait for element to be copied on the iphone. If I try to close the sync it don't work, i'm obliged to disconnect my iphone.

I tried to make a clean sync by syncing music with itunes but it don't resolve my problem.
Seems to be resolved with 1485, great job!

Build 1485 has been posted. Please let us know if it solves the iOS 5 sync issues for you.

Thanks.

I confirm that my problem is exactly the one that is processed in http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9301
Looking forward build 1485, then...

Thank you very much for this nice job.

1484 for me (iOS 5.1, iPhone 4) now copies songs from a play list if I select the play list and choose Send to iPhone from the context menu. When the songs get to the iPhone they are there and playable but there is no playlist associated with the song. I can create a playlist of course on the iPhone but that's as far as I've taken this.

Auto-sync is horribly broken. It crashes 100% of the time. I get a crash report and send to you each time; hope they are useful.

Hang in there guys, it appears to be getting more stable. Thanks for all your efforts!

The last note here

http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9301

says the problem is fixed in build 1485. But I see no build 1485 available for testing

Yes--the display bug (with the funny characters) sounds very much like http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9301 (which will be fixed in the next build).

If it is, refreshing (F5) the tracklist in MediaMonkey may solve the problem.

Do the files play in MediaMonkey (indicating access problem if they don't)?

Re: [1484] Sync problem

iTunes 10.6.1.7
MM 4.0.5.1484
iPhone 4S 16GB
iOS 5.1 (9B179)
Win 7 x86, 3GB RAM

MM recognises the phone but any time I try to transfer any track (all mp3, varying sizes from a few MB to hundreds of MB), I get the following message:

Image

No logs are created and it doesn't crash, it simply doesn't work. Am I missing something? Will also try this on my home machine this weekend (at work now).

Cheers
