Yep it does look like IPhoneCalc.dll was an old version. The date on the file was some time in 2010. I uninstalled then reinstalled. It seems to work fine now and the crash has gone. Thanks.

Hi all,

I still have a problem with build 1493 though it appears to be a different problem. I am synching a collection of ab 1600 tunes and I tunes crashes after about 600 tunes - though it appears to vary. I am using the debug build and it generates an error report but it appears to die completely when I hit the submit button.

The error message I get is:

This also appears to be a problem with build 1492 but not with build 1491 which had the separate problem of iTunes no longer recognising my 3rd gen ipod touch.

Version 1493 has only partially fixed the problem. iTunes no longer reports the error, however all album art is wiped on the Touch Gen3

i.e.
Delete existing music on Touch
Open iTunes and ensure 'Sync Music' is unselected in the Music Tab
Close iTunes
Open MM and sync some MP3's that have Album Art in their tags
Close MM and check result on Touch (Album Art is present)
Open iTunes
Sync Apps if not auto-synced
- have checked and the problem only seems to occur when [u]Apps[/u] are synced, irrespective of whether they are auto-synced or manually synced.
Close iTunes and check result on Touch (Album Art is gone)

As per my earlier feedback, exactly the same process for my iPhone 4S with same MM & iTunes settings works fine, i.e. there is no loss of artwork

A footnote to the above. The MediaMonkey sync only has issues on my iTouch 3rd gen. Have checked and it seems to work fine on my IPhone4S, and iPad2.
The only notable differences between them are device type, age and capacity (Touch 64GB, iPad 32GB, iPhone 16GB). Everything else is the same i.e. IOS (5.1.1), same iTunes, same MM, same PC doing the sync.
The actual error message if you want it is '[color=#0040FF]iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod "Brians iPod". Go to the Summary tab in iPod preferences and click Restore to restore this iPod to factory settings[/color].'
The issue for me is that my Touch is my music device of choice because of its capacity :(

Looks like I too have the same issue. I'm running build 1491 with itunes 10.6.1.7 with IOS 5.1.1 on an ipod touch 3rd gen (not jail broken). I can now sync with MM but then iTunes no longer recognises the device until I delete the iTunesCDB file. On deleting the CDB file it works fine apart from neither iTunes or MM can see any files on the ipod touch. If I resync in iTunes then all music files are deleted from the device. If I resync in MM then iTunes no longer sees the device. I get dizzy just thinking about it.

Seems my earlier post was a little premature - I get the same result as the last person, i.e. deleting the CDB file fixes the problem for iTunes (except of course you lose access to the synced music), but if you sync again with MediaMonkey the problem is back again. Tried doing the factory restore then using version 1491, but makes no difference ....same problem continues.
One thing I do notice though was that when MM used to sync ok (i.e. a while back), there used to be a significant pause/database rebuild afterwards when you first accessed the music on the device after a sync - that does not happen anymore, the music is instantly available. I can send a copy of the CDB file but where to ?
Details: ipod touch, 3rd Gen (not jailbroken), IOS 5.1.1, iTunes 10.6.1.7

Same here, Iphone 3GS jailroken 5.0.1 and iTunes 10.6.1.7; tried MM 4.0.5.1490, add and delete some music and then BAM! iTunes doesn't sync anymore.
with IphoneBrowser I go to /User/Media//iTunes_Control/iTunes/ and delete "iTunesCDB" file, now everything is working fine! Thanks Ludek.
But if I retry to transfer music with MM, the same problem comes back :/ Is it just me (and a bunch of other unlucky iphones/ipods) or we found a bug?
