Ticket submitted. I appreciate your help. One question - when I set up port forwarding, do I set up the port as TCP or UDP or both?

Thanks again!

Yes, you have set CBR (constant bitrate). In that case a debug log (step 4b) send to support capturing the streaming from the PS3 may help: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=69

Hi,

I'm using MM version 4.0.3.1476.

The rules I am using are, I believe, the default rules. Do you see anything there that needs added? changed? removed?

From what I see, it looks like everything should be CBR. Is there an obvious way to tell? (And thanks for responding, btw :) ).

What version of MediaMonkey? If you're converting to MP3 I recommend trying CBR instead of VBR as some Sony devices struggle with converted VBR MP3.

UPDATE: I tried streaming the same song mentioned above using PS3 media server and it playing to completion. No network errors or anything. I also downloaded BubbleUPnP and was able to play the same song successfully on my smartphone.

So, now the question is - what is different about MM media server and PS3 media server that would allow one to work and one not to work?

Please, anyone, any advice, suggestions or ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps some more info on the auto-rules? I do believe I have port forwarding set up correctly for MM. Then again, what do I know?

Thanks, in advance, for any help you can give.

MM 4 Media Server Streaming to PS3 Network Error

Hey everyone,

A few months ago I posted about the below issue, but with no luck on a resolution. I was hoping that recent updates to MM would resolve this but to no avail.

The issue I'm having is this: I cannot successfully stream MP3s from MM to my PS3. I am getting error 80710091 followed closely by error 80710004.

The song I am playing is 2:46 long. At about the 1:45 mark, I get error 80710091 and then error 80710004. The song continues to play for about 20 seconds more and then just stops. The PS3 returns me to my song listing. It doesn't really matter what song I try - I still get the same results - a cutoff song.

I believe I have port forwarding set up correctly. I think I have the default auto-conversion rules in place, and all of my songs are in mp3 format. Are there other auto-conversion rules that I need to apply?

My PS3 is using a wired connection to my router, via MOCA, but I've had no problems streaming movies via MOCA from an old Popcorn Hour box nor do I have issues streaming movies from Amazon on my ps3.

On the UPnP/DLNA Server tab, it looks like it sees my PS3 correctly. The Status shows 'Accepted'.

I have not tried seeing if PS3 Media Server will play the song correctly as of this posting, but I am currently downloading it and will try it next here, in a few minutes.

This is the one feature of MM that is not currently working but gets me very excited at the idea that it could work. Does anyone have any ideas for me? I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give.

Thanks!
Scott
