Unfortunately Samsung decided to give me the run-around again.

I did find that a specific MP3 file was able to reproduce the sync fail every time even if it was the only song synced. Furthermore syncing FLAC also ended in failure as well as FLAC to MP4 converted files. However FLAC to WAV resulted in success with 100 files.

I've finally gotten through to Samsung and they recommended a Soft Reset which involves removing the battery 60+ seconds. This didn't work.

But as I was testing I synced the same file list using WMP and MediaMonkey and both failed on the same file. Then I synced this file by itself using WMP and it failed as well. So it seems that certain files can trigger the sync failure. Now don't ask my why as supposedly all files are 128Kbps CBR MP3's without Artwork.

I don't know anything about the drivers but for your battery issue... go into "settings" then "battery"

When used sparingly "Cell standby" should be the highest battery hungry process, probably followed by "screen". If it's something else, that's what's eating your battery. For me, my phone would die after 8/9 hours, I found it was simply my calendar syncing non-stop. If that's your issue it's easily fixed, mine now lasts 30+/- hours.

In the Samsung\Kies folder there is another folder called USB driver and it's an exe file. I ran it (it gave the warning that it was already installed but I ran it anyway) and didn't help. Then I plugged in my phone I got a windows message saying that it doesn't recognize the hardware plugged into my samsung device...

That means you're step ahead of me as I haven't been able to contact Samsung for support in the first place (all they have been able to tell me is that I contacted the wrong support, but no help on getting actual support).

that is what I tried to do. I clicked on "update driver" in the device manager, chose Local Folder and pointed to the USB Driver folder, but it just said, Drivers already up to date :(

I wrote to Samsung again, but haven't heard from them since :/

I installed Kies which resulted in the device no longer being recognized by the PC.

One thing you could attempt is to go to the Windows Device Manager and from there re-install the drivers and point it to the Kies folder suggested by Samsung. This may work.

I tried to read a little about this MTP, hoping to find some transfer limiter or anything of that kind, but didn't find anything :(

I also wrote again to Samsung Customer service and they did reply, although I'm not able to follow their reply. This is what they told me (translated from german):

First Problem I had, the folder in which the drivers are suppoesed to be, has 15 elements in it. Maybe the whole folder is the driver or just one?
Second, I can't install the drivers manually, it says they are already up to date and there is no option to force install them.

Whats your experience?

I can access files thru file explorer fine though (using android samba network fileshare). I have mapped my Galaxy S external microsd to A: drive. Basically im trying to do network sync. When I configure usbmass.dll to A-drive it just shows same thing as "my computer". When I use sync button it claims that there are no enough space.

I have the problem with and without an SD Card. WhenI try to sync the SD Card while it is in my Galaxy S2 it fails, when I try it in a SD Card Reader, it works just fine. I don't think it has anything to do with the card.

And yes, it is quiet the hassel that Google decided to get rid of the Mass Storage Option. It stays absent with Jelly Bean -.-

First of all, I use Windows 7 64 Bit.
Today I tried several work arounds for this Problem.
1. I synced one playlist folder, like it would be on the device, to another usb drive. Then I wanted to copy that folder on to my Galaxy S2. Almost worked correctly. The Playlistfile File (m3u) couldn't be transferred. Always got the message "Can't copy file". I renamed it, changed it to rar, txt file etc. just didn't work. I then uploaded the same File via dropbox to the device and that worked fine -.-
Following this procedure I called the swiss (since I'm in switzerland) Samsung Support. Very big let down. The Supporter just told me that this is a Windows related Problem, hence he couldn't help me. I insisted a little and after some discussion he told me it wouldn't even be possible to file in a bug report of some sort. "The developers don't have time for this".

2. I found a workaround for me that worked flawless AND! wireless :P
It's probably described here in the forums somewhere, but still...
I installed an APP called Samba Filesharing (http://goo.gl/uAOpM).

I then mapped my phone as a Network Drive and added the Network Drive via "Media Monkey/Tools/Options/Portable/Audio Devices/d_USBMASS1.dll" as a USB Mass Storage.
If I want to sync my Songs, I'll just activate the Samba App and click on autosync.
I can live with this workaround, but still blame Samsung. I googled a little and it just seems to be Samsung with this particular Problem :/
