I saw this message and I saw the new dev build and assumed they were the same build. This fix is available in 1611 but the new dev build is 1610.

OK, added audio/wav, audio/wave, audio/x-flac to the server protocol info in build 1611.

Also changed "audio/x-wav" -> "audio/wav" protocol info when serving particular wav file, so it might help.

I also have an Xtreamer with some compatibility problems and I've been digging around using the Intel UPnP tools. I may have something here but don't know enough to know for sure. I'm only looking at audio types but there seems to be some confusion out there about the mime types. For instance for WAV files MM uses audio/x-wav, Soundbridge uses audio/wav and Xtreamer uses audio/wav. For FLAC files MM uses audio/flac, Xtreamer uses audio/x-flac while the Soundbridge doesn't support FLAC.

Could MM be coded to support wav and x-wav, flac and x-flac?

My SoundBridge shows the same behaviour if I try to stream WAV files to it from MediaMonkey. Streaming WAV from Windows Media Player works fine, though, as well as auto-converting WAV to MP3 in MediaMonkey. Streaming WAV to my Android tablet from MediaMonkey works fine, too. It looks as though in this special case MM and the SoundBridge aren't compatible with each other.

That might be one possible reason. Maybe the powers that be at Ventis Media will have a look at the issue.

Roku's SoundBridges do [b]not[/b] support FLAC natively, so music files in that format will have to be transcoded to a compatible format (for example MP3 or WMA) which is what Firefly does when serving FLAC to a SoundBridge.

WAV is natively supported and in theory should work, but many SoundBridge users have experienced issues when trying to stream WAV to their devices.

The SoundBridge is supposed to support FLAC but reports "The music format is not supported" when streamed from MM. I have tried converting to WAV which is also claimed to be supported and, according to Roku support page, both formats are supported when used with Firefly Media Server. Converting to MP3 at Insane bitrate works.

Can MM be made to stream FLAC to the SoundBridge?

Another incompatibility is with the SoundBridge search button. It reports "This server does not support search." The TwonkyVision server I used way back when did support searching so is MM missing something here?
