Did you find a resolution to this? I'm trying to figure out how to manage podcasts on windows phone 8.

I thought about that, but I don't know where podcasts belong. Right now MM stores them on the devise under /Music/Podcasts. Maybe it has to go somewhere else.
I just read that MusicBee does it correctly. I'll try it out and see if I can determine the differences.

Maybe you need to change the folder where podcasts are copied to. You can do that in the device options.

How does the Win 8 phone determine which files are podcasts? Is it by folder or some other method?

It says here in the forum, that mm works fine with Windows phone 8. But I have a problem: WP8 and podcasts are a pain in the ass and one way it seems to work is via itunes. But who wants to use that?
Anyway: if I sync a podcast with MM and WP8 it shows up under Music not under podcasts. And that not what it supposed to be. Does anyone have an idea what I should do?
