MediaMonkey's delete function is supposed to only delete files that are configured as media storage locations within
Device Profile > Options > File Locations

Unfortunately, that's not yet configurable/viewable in the MMA interface.

To reduce risk of an error, we're going to be adding a confirmation dialog as described at:
http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9501

Hopefully that's what you're looking for.

Came here to request this. Love the app, and this would make it even better!

REQ: restricting library search/scanning paths [#10170]

Hi, my android storage contains various app folders with their own audio/video files, which should not normally be added to the library.

Ideally, there would be setting to select which storage path(s) should be included in the library so these extranious media files are ignored.

On a related note, will the sync option 'delete all other media files' delete any such files on the storage device, or only those files within the mediamonkey library?

Obviously it would be very bad for MMA to delete media files for other applications even if they are in the library or not.

In my opinion, deletion of media files should only apply to files within the sync path.
