:) .. that must be why it works here :) You didn't miss anything but I did. I wasn't sure why the OP couldn't Okay or Cancel .. missed Keyboard

I'm able to replicate this with an Experia Pro running ICS. Tracked at:
http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=11117

Note: my understanding of the bug is that it requires a _physical_ keyboard to replicate. The S3 doesn't have a physical keyboard, so how can it be used to replicate the bug? Or am I misunderstanding?

So if you are editing text with virtual keyboard in vertical mode and open keyboard Emma does not crash?

I just tried this with my S3 and this is one problem I don't have. With Keyboard up I simply 'back' and OK. No crash here

I took a snapshot with a field being edited and the physical keyboard open. I don't know how to upload to the forum, so I guess I'll just put it on the help desk ticket. Basically, the punctuation suggested items cover the lower strip of the screen which is where the ok/cancel buttons are. I can confirm that pressing back will remove these, so that makes it much easier to press the button. I wonder if that's why pressing back when at the edit screen does not drop out of the menu (in case of double taps).

There is mostly holding Power and Volume Down will work.

Sure. What's the best way to create one? I know how in windows, but there's no print screen button in ICS, obviously.

I sent a log before, but I just did it again so we can be certain they have multiple instances to review. Thanks for confirming bug with your config.

Just did your steps and got same crash, do it again your self and make sure to go into options and send in the debug log so they can find your issue's cause.

The Android back-button closes the onscreen keyboard for me. (Altho, I use SwiftKey; possibly that behaves differently.)

I reported this same issue in a conglomerated topic that got no response. This is still an issue, so I decided to make a single topic and submit a help desk ticket.

[BUG #11117] Opening physical keyboard crashes MMA

by bkenobi69 » Fri Jul 26, 2013 4:52 pm

Steps to recreate:
start MMA
select track and play
open properties editor
enter text in a field
there is no way to select ok or close onscreen keyboard, so open physical keyboard
MMA pauses for a few seconds prior to stopping playback and displaying a notice that MMA crashed

There are probably a lot of ways to cause this, as the issue is really opening the physical keyboard and MMA failing to handle it correctly.
