Could you please send logs as desrived above? About dialog->Send logs and post log id here please.. I will look at it. Thanks

Loaded Poweramp last night. It was scanning in the data before I even figured out how to open settings. No prob. Of course, there's no intrinsic tagging for WAV files. So I now have an unknown album with 6500 genreless tracks. The other 6000 FLACS are properly tagged.

I'm not sure that MMA would do any different, if it worked. My hope for MMA when it came out was that it would be a relatively simple case of transferring the MM.db to android, redirecting the path to external HDD, and playlists and tagging etc would be the same as on my music server. To me syncing is useless as I'm dealing with 500 Gb of data. Part of MM reputation is it's ability to handle huge libraries, yet this android app seems more focused on syncing a handful of songs to your Iphone. If this app does not support transference of its Windows counterpart, there's no benefit to it for me.

Hi, we have imporved some logic to support your configuration. Could you please try latest build?

Btw. don't you see the external HDD on internal storage in /extStorages/ subfolder ?

If you still don't see the storage, please resend logs because we had to improve logging too.

Btw. MMA is designed to provide you as most as possible of MMW functionality on your portable device. So you can be able to sync metadata/media with your device. But it is still just portable device. The sync won't be probably fast for the first time and some views might be slower. But we are still working on optimizations.

Any ideas?

Could you please send us logs from About dialog-> Send logs ? And post log id here, thanks!

Could you please specify the full path of connected HDD? It quite easily visible in X-plore app. There you can see all storages with their paths.

E.g. I can see there these nodes:
/sdcard (sdcard)
/ (Root)

The build version I have is 245 and I have emailed you the log... If MMA was able to navigate back up to Root filesystem it would be easy to navigate to the USB share.

That is ok. So start MMA with connected HDD and please send logs from About dialog-> Send logs. Please write your Log ID here. Thanks.

Unfortunatly I am not able to plug the USB HDD in after the media player is running, it needs to be connected before powering up the device. The USB HDD is mounted as /mnt/sda1 in the media player file browser.

The best way to see what happen is to Open support Ticket, Connect your externall HDD and send log from MMA -> About dialog which log id you will write in support ticket.

External USB HDD Not Recognised

by pfazey » Sat May 24, 2014 11:47 pm

Hi there, I have installed MMA Pro on an Android media player. The media player uses an external USB HDD to store the media. MMA does not see the external USB HDD in the folders list. Can this be added?

Thanks.

So build 214 now recognizes the USB connected HD, great.

The next issue that I now encounter is that MMA does not add the music files that are stored on the HD into the music library.
The only way I have found to play the music on the HD is to use the "Folders" option on the start page and then click myself to each individual music file. Pressing any other option like for example "Albums" generates a null/empty content. This despite having used the option "Choose library folders" under "options" and there of course included the music folders that are on the HD.
I'm just guessing now, but there might be a link between this problem and the choice of library folders.
There is a list of 3 "SD cards" to choose from (the MINIX have an internal and an external SD card), the 2 SD cards and the HD.
In the case of the SD cards, it is possible to click down into the folder structure to select a folder further down in the tree. In the case of the "SD card" HD, only the top level is selectable which is incorrect because what comes up is the volume name rather than the folder structure and it is not possible to click down into its folder structure.
After having filed the above, it actually started working. What I did was that I removed and reconnected the HD and then MMA started to display the music files in it's library (which is not really correct in itself).
What definitely doesn't work is to select a folder in the folder structure on the HD to include in the library. It takes all from the root. That is not good for several reasons (might be time consuming, might take unnecessary CPU power, might include a lot of things that one do not want to include).

Hi.
I have done it once if you look at my reply to Bhiefer the 24/12.
I'll do it again. The log id is: Z7W27W3QK9
I would imagine that this problem shouldn't be that difficult to recreate since it is persistent and other people also report that they have found the same problem.

Hi. Thank you for your logs. But I need more help. Because of some connection error, I didn't receive first log. In second log, MMA was unfortunately running for long time on your device without need of refresh of storage settings. It was very unlikely but it can happen :(. To be sure that I will see what I need, please send logs once again by following these steps:

1. unplug USB HDD
2. restart device
3. start MMA
4. plug in USB HDD
5. send logs in Options-> Send logs

Thank you!
Well, here it is again.
The Log Id is: ZVNGPP6KN5
