Thanks! I have an A:\ drive and I could not for the life of me figure out why every time I imported music it was greyed out. Huge help!

Solved it! The Hard drive partition holding the music files is drive "B".

Went into MediaMonkeys ini file and found ignoredrive = AB, removed the "B"

Now it finds the files...

Scan - all music greyed out/ unplayable Win 8.1

I have installed MM on a win 8.1 desktop - I am operating it from the desktop (no metro).
The music files are in a partition on the hard drive.

When MM scans for music files, all files found are greyed out and unplayable.
But if I open a single file, it shows it in black and plays fine.
So I don't think it is any kind of sound system issue.

No difference when I tried a portable install,
No difference after clean reinstall after removing all components per instructions on completely removing MM.
No difference running in windows 7 compatibility mode.
Album art is shown, even though all songs are greyed out.

Foobar scans the same directories and finds and plays all files.

Any ideas?
