Thanks... I thought it might be something like that. I'll just have to pull the full album off the iPod, edit it on my computer and re-add.

As far as this particular bug goes, I hope they don't decide to fix it. :-)

You can't direct edit on the iPod, so the bug is that editing is possible on multi-select.

Editing song data on iPod-Read Only? [#12381]

Hi all,
So I am going through and finding issues where multi-artist albums aren't set to 'Various' and show up as if they were 20 albums instead. MM is smart enough to figure this out automatically, but my iPod isn't. I've fixed this in most situations, going to the files on the iPod through MM selecting all of the songs and editing properties. In the process, I discovered something weird. If I select only a single song on my iPod through MM, right click, and choose "Properties", it becomes "Read Only' and I can't change the data, not track name, album name, album artist, etc., it's all locked out. If I select multiple files at once, it's all good, and I can edit away. This is only when accessing the files on the iPod through MM. If I go into my main music library on my computer, I can edit individual files like crazy.

I'm not sure if this is a feature, a known issue with no fix due to the fact that Apple hates me, or if it's an actual bug. As a result, I didn't want to post this in the 'Bugs' section if it wasn't.
