bhiefer, thanks for your reply

Your question, "When you sync some tracks that have some rating in MMW, is this rating lost on restart too (along with artworks) ?" raises another issue that I hadn't previously noticed.

I do not typically rate my music, as it is not one of my big concerns. On the few artists/albums that I have rated, the files are sync/copied to the SD card properly. I can remove the microSD card from the device, and use Windows explorer on my PC to confirm the ratings are present in the file info/tags. But....

Now I see that MMA never reads the rating, including either immediately after sync, or after power off/on, so this is just another and separate issue/bug.

However, it appears MMA is not alone in having issues not reading the embedded ratings. The App I am currently using only uses rating info as a way to sort music, it does not show ratings in any other form, so it is limited in this sense. But... when attempting to use this sort function it doesn't show any of my files with embedded ratings.

Thanks for your input, but I'm not going to waste any more time with this app. Maybe I will try it again later on down the road when there have been a few version updates, or maybe after Lollipop gets released and it's inherent bugs worked out. Although initially I love the way MMA looks and plays back music, for now I just don't see this as ready for prime time use.

Thanks

Rusty, thanks for your reply, but I think you missed the point.

I do not see this as a problem with sync. Sync is successful. All files (including all the proper tag info) is/are correctly copied/synced.

In simplest terms the problem is that MMA does not display/restore the artwork after power off/on

Thanks

Hi Keith,

I have also one question: When you sync some tracks that have some rating in MMW, is this rating lost on restart too (along with artworks) ?

Please try to send the debug log right after the USB sync and then second one after restart...when artworks dissapear. BUT please sync only small amount of tracks...e.g.only two albums.

You can send logs from MMA -> About dialog -> send logs and post log ids here. Thank You for Your help!

Hi Keith,

Thanks for your detailed report. I'm not sure of how the Asus device running kitkat handles external storage, but since the Artwork appears in other players, I presume that it doesn't have the same limitations as some other kitkat devices (we don't have an asus device in house).

One thing I would suggest, is that you update MMW to 4.1.6 and try to sync once more against MMA build 385. If that fails, it may help if you provide us with a debug log. Would you mind doing this?

MMA does not display artwork after power off/on

1. I originally found this problem with the basic MMA and changed to the Beta version, but still have the same problem.

2. My device is a new ASUS MeMO Pad 7 mod# ME572c, running Android 4.4.2. and MMA Beta Vers 1.1.0.0381. and I am using a Sandisk Extreme Plus 64GB microSD card for storage.

3. My PC is an ASUS, i7-3770 with 32GB Ram, 128GB SSD system drive, and 1TB data drive. I am running Win 8.1 with all updates current, and I am using: MMW Gold Vers 4.1.5.1719

4. My library as synced is 12,162 songs totaling 46.8GB using both MP3 and M4a file types.

5. The problem I am having is - 95% of the time when I turn the device off, then back on none of the artwork is displayed!
Please Note - ALL SYNC is via direct USB and:
A. All files were originally tagged using my MMW Gold to embed the artwork in each file/Tag of the source library.
B. All files were originally synced from MMW and "initially" worked properly in MMA
C. Removing the microSD card and reading/viewing it on a pc Using Windows Explorer to view (as large icons) each song file is shown with the proper artwork/icon. This of course is only possible when the artwork is properly embedded in the tag info.
D. I subsequently tried syncing with album artwork saved to each album folder as a separate .jpg
E. I also synced and removed all artwork >0KB from the tags and only having the album artwork in the folders.
F. Using MMA to rescan "check for new/changed media" takes entirely too long (2hrs +) and most of the time it works, but sometimes it still doesn't properly update.
G. If it still fails after a rescan - I can remove the external folder location, rescan to clear the library, then re-enable the external folder location and scan again. This works everytime -- that is of course until power off/on
H. I also successfully copied the folders\files from the pc directly to the microSD and used MMA to scan with the same results
I. On a rare occasion power off/on = some (very few) artwork is still viewable
J. I have seen a lot of references in the forum to KitKat and SD problems. I do not think these references apply, and I say this because since MM sync does work to the microSD, and initially the artwork is displayed.

6. So in conclusion - All files seem to play properly with no problems, BUT no matter what I do - power off/on = no artwork!!!

Am I missing something??? (Note: All artwork shows/displays properly in competitor's app, including after power off/on. I use MMW Gold on my PC and I was really hoping to use your app on my droid-tablet, but this and other idiosyncrasies make it unusable at this time.)
