Okay, thanks. I now understand how to do it.

When your device is connected right click > Send To will list it at the top and if you select it the files will be synced (copied) to the device). This also works when right clicking on the Playlists in the Media Tree.

You're referring to Send To > Folder (Copy) (don't use Folder (Move), which will copy the files to the device, but it won't respect any destination mask set in the Device Profile (so all files will be in 1 folder).

Lowlander, just so I understand correctly. That will simply copy the files to the new location and not permanently move them from the original file location? Does what also work for playlists? I just noticed two choices: send to/folder/move and send to folder/copy. What little brain I have left tells me the send to/copy is the correct one I should have chosen. Let me know if I'm wrong. The first time I moved over 100 songs from my hard drive to a flash drive. What a mess.

Thanks for your help. I would have eventually figured it out but having someone explain helps.

Right click on the files you want copied and use Send To > and select device.

Copying music files to a USB

Can I get someone to give me simple directions for copying music files to a USB? Last time I tried I moved several files to the USB drive instead of copying them, and had a heck of a time restoring them to my hard drive and back to MM. Please keep it simple, I have a simple working knowledge of MM and computers in general.
