I got to the bottom of it.
I think it was hung up in the MMW settings. I synced a number of times after updating to 408 and was having the same problems.

Then I went to the sync menu in MMW, and under "auto sync > library" i turned the "confirm updates" toggle OFF.
Then the next time I synced everything worked properly and the playlist was updated.
Then I went back to the menu and turned "confirm updates" back ON.
Now the notifications happen AND the playlists sync both ways as they should.

Really strange that toggling that setting fixed it, but I agree with you guys. This bug is squashed.

We tested this on multiple devices (lollipop, kitkat, internal storage, external, etc) with build 407 and are unable to replicate. The newly created playlist gets uploaded to MMW and is preserved in MMA.

Can you re-verify and confirm that the newly created playlist _was_ checked off in the 'Upload' tab of the sync confirmation dialog? If you can still replicate with build 407, can you share a debug log?

EDIT: Another possibility: did you test build 405 instead of build 407 (the update was only posted to the forum and not to Google Play). Note: build 408 was just posted to Google Play.

This is definitely not fixed.

The only difference is I now get a nice dialog box that pops up asking me if i want to upload the playlist to MMW.
I clicked "YES".

The playlist still gets deleted off of my phone and still is not uploaded to MMW !!!!!

That is 100% correct.
If I create new playlists on MMA, there is no way to get them onto MMW.

I can either leave them on MMA or delete them from MMA but uploading them to MMW is not an option.




Just for the record, if i make a playlist in MMW, sync it to MMA and then make changes in MMA and sync again, the changes are picked up in MMW, so that part is functioning.

So if I understand correctly, the bug isn't that MMA is deleting tracks when it shouldn't. It's that it's not offering you a means of uploading the modified content when it should. Is that right?

I am always on the absolute most current versions when I post.

I am on MMW 4.1.6.1736
According to the play store, the current MMA Beta build is 405 (which I have). In order to get on 406 i would have to uninstall the beta version and install the regular one and I am not going to do that.

I am using WIFI for syncing.

1.1.0.406 is the latest release of MMA, are you on MMW 4.1.6? Also are you doing a wifi or USB sync?

I am on the most current MMA beta (405) and the most current MMW.
HTC M8 on Lollipop

I cleared everything from my phone, deleted MMA, cleared all sync profiles on MMW. Started with a fresh MMA install.

1) Synced 500 songs to external storage on my phone from a MMW playlist.
2) Created a new MMA playlist "test" with one of those songs.
3) Pressed sync.
4) I don't even get the option to upload the new playlist to MMW, only delete.
5) I either press NO and get to keep the playlist or YES and it is deleted.

Relevant MMA settings:
Sync to internal - NO
Sync to external - Yes
Auto sync server content - Yes
Auto sync device content - Yes
Delete unselected copies - Yes
Delete all unselected content - NO

What is going on here?!
You guys are killing me ... I put together an awesome list earlier today and you wiped it out.
I want to keep beta testing, but not if you are gonna keep kicking me in the nuts like this.
