OK Fixed now! Turned off (unchecked) all "Run as administrator" tick boxes on app and shortcuts. Hope this helps others.

I had this same problem with 4.06.1501. In the start menu, the shortcut was not checked to run as admin, but the exe file in the MediaMonkey folder *was* checked to launch as admin. I unchecked the box in the program folder and MM started without the UAC popup.

Also, all the OS Integration boxes are unticked since I don't use MM to play individual tracks, but I was still having the problem after I unchecked them.

Strange then, because I'm on Win 7 also and I don't get any elevation prompt when I launch MM.

I saw that. Un-checking made no difference. But thanks anyway....

There were some reports that the elevation prompt is only if you checked the box "Re-associate file types at startup" option at Options > OS integration.

UAC elevation required for launch?

I recently upgraded to MM 4.0.5.1496/gold. Using Win 7.

I now get asked to approve UAC elevation (...allow program to make changes....etc) each time I start MM.

I have found a few threads here, but none seem to have a solution or explanation - I have tried some of the suggestions, and they don't make a difference

I don't think this should be needed for a music player/library manager. Besides, iTunes doesn't need this, and it seems much more poorly behaved.

Any way to get rid of this??

thnx,
