LG V20. not syncing

by bdplaid » Thu Sep 21, 2017 1:10 pm

Yet another complaint about MM4 not syncing with LG V20.
MM connects to the phone and I can browse it, but trying to send or sync anything usually calls the "Initializing" message forever. Then I get the "Frozen" message, and nada.

Occasionally MM will deign to work but usually not.

I have the wifi addon, but prefer to use USB. Even so, nothing works.

And now, even when MM seems like it's working, I only get a partial sync - like a random number of files in a playlist.

Any ideas?

Fyi, there was bug, that in case no supported format was set for the device ( = all formats supported), it copied only audio files, not video. It will be fixed in the next release.

PeterBrockie: Have you enabled also formats for video stream in video? I.e. in Supported format configuration check File formats, then all in tab "Audio", then click tab "Video" (under File formats) and check also all video formats there. Leave "0" in all editboxes, including bitrates.

LG V20 Sync Issues [#14066]

by PeterBrockie » Thu Mar 02, 2017 1:10 pm

Hi,

I recently transitioned from iTunes/iOS to MediaMonkey and Android, I'm having a strange issue syncing my existing movies and TV shows.

I have a large collection of videos in .m4v (unprotected) which I ripped with Handbreak and none will sync to my new LG V20. I get an error saying it is not supported regardless of if I add a new supported format and check everything, nor do I want to transcode videos I know work on the device. As a side note, Windows also complains that the files won't work on my device when I manually copy them (they work fine).

Is there an option to ignore all device compatibility checks and simply sync anything from my library? I have confirmed my videos play perfectly on my phone in both VLC and - ironically - the MediaMonkey Android app - yet it refuses to let me sync any of my m4v files. I just want to tell it to sync and it just ignores any formats and puts it on the device.

Tech stuff:

The specific error I get is "xx is not supported by the device".
The files play in MM for Windows as well as MM for Android without issue.
Syncing to SD card or internal makes no difference.
Auto-sync and manual sync have the same result.
Tried disabling all the transcoding options.
Tried enabling all formats and codecs with all bitrates.
The DVD rips are encoded using Handbreak's Apple - Universal preset, the HD videos use Handbreak's Apple TV 3 preset.
