Then you might have stumbled upon a bug. I advice to keep trying to see if it's a mistake on your side or a bug in MediaMonkey.

Part of my criteria is that I have secified the location as I have tracks in my library that I do not want in rotation on my IPOD. I have confirmed it is pulling from the correct group.

One of the ways I know it is not random each time is that it only pulls one album and the same one from the Smashing Pumpkins when there is 15+ that I have for them.

I actually have it checked at 53000 megabytes as I have a '60'gb IPOD with about 82gb of music that this playlist would be pulling from. The issue is that the paylist does not change once created, which may be its design but not what I gathered from the previous poster.

Thanks for the reply! Tried your idea and am now half way there. I filtered out my non rotational music and get 53gb of random albums for my IPOD... unfortuatly I can not figure out how to get a different random set.

... once it has created that list it does not appear to change at all each time I click on it or navagate back to it. Any ideas? Do I need to create one each time?

You should be able to do this with Autoplaylists. For this example, assume you want 4 GB worth of random albums: Make a new autoplaylist, go to the advanced tab, leave the 'criteria' selection blank, check 'show at most' and enter 4000 megabytes, set 'sort option' to 'Random Album'. Each time you click on this playlist (or sync it with your mp3 player) you will get 4 GB of full albums, except for one which will be a partial album to fill out the size.

You could enter a value in the 'criteria' selection if you want to filter to specific genres, etc.

I have my entire collection set up by albums (very few pieces of loose music) and would like an option when synching a random subset to do it by full albums rather than individual songs.
