Let's use this recent search: Crosby, Stills & Nash.

If I type C-R-O-S and see my keyboard suggest “Crosby” I tap that, but the problem is that the keyboard will enter “Crosby ” with a SPACE after it and return no results. Even if I ignore the suggestion and type it myself I enter Crosby Stills & Nash, or even Crosby Stills and Nash .. but nothing will come up because I did not include the cursed comma. Now, technically it’s Crosby COMMA Stills & Nash, and yeah, and I guess my bad for forgetting which bands/track names have commas after words, but I wish there was a little smartness to the search engine to know, “oh, I’m guessing you’re looking for Crosby, Stills & Nash, aren’t you?” We all have muscle memory for things, especially searches online here in the 21st century, and if I search without the comma on Google it doesn’t come back with, “yeah, I got nothin, pal,” the way it does with MMA.

Thanks,

Hi there!
I want to know why the search engine fails to find results if a query like 'Crosby, Stills & Nash' is missing punctuation, and could it be smarter in recognizing similar searches?
Thanks,
Mike Taku.

I find that if I errantly hit a space when typing a search query, or choose the keyboard-suggested word which then automatically adds a space, the results disappear if the punctuation isn't 100% accurate.
