I have this issue - though mine display no artwork whatsoever if sync profile is set to not put an albumart.jpg in the folder (as instructed for all past issues) - and it's so frustrating that it gets no attention from the devs.
I have a collection of tracks in a single folder, nearly 300 files. Every MP3 has a good, valid artwork image embedded. Artwork is seen by every other app, program, and platform EXCEPT MMA (when playing a track). I've been through cleanup in MMW before syncing, deleted all the cache data everywhere (this is also now occurring on a brand new sync from scratch S25) all to no avail. MMA simply can't seem to show the artwork in a file, only reads the jpg in a folder.
I've been a Lifetime Gold user since 2015 and never has MMA not been super frustrating. Primarily I got it to organize, convert and cleanup file tags and it's great for that. Sync was always an exercise in frustration. At least the current version seems to do well at sync (so far), devs just can't seem to get the artwork stuff figured out for MMA. @rusty
ETA: Well no sooner did I type this than the last time I attempted a cleanup, removed the folder, etc. and re-sync'd, the artwork is now displaying while playing each track. Halleluiah!
