Hi, Peke --

I'd be more than happy to test... just let me know. Also, I've sent you a private message with a couple of files that still don't work.

RC3 definitely fixed the first two files, though (and most of my collection). Thanks!

Hmmm... It looks that first Two are solved in Last RC-3 Release.
The third i hope will be solved in first next Release as I prepared fix.

@unzerpum
Contact me if you want to test new fix?

Cool, thanks! I'll test it ASAP when I get it.

I'll send you Fixed DLL on mail for test, I'm hoping that it will solve problems.

Are you sure this is fixed? I just tested the latest Beta builds (both 2.5.4.974 and 2.5.4.975) and the issues I originally described are still occurring.

I've posted a test file here:

http://www.unzerpum.net/temp/WavTagOrder.zip (55KB)

The WAV file inside the ZIP file was edited using versions .974 and .975. It's still appending new LIST INFO blocks to the end of the file after every edit, and it's still stopping at the first LIST INFO or ID3 block when it reads tags. (Look at the WAV file in a hex editor to see what I mean.) When I bring up the WAV file in MediaMonkey, it should display the following tags:

Title: "WAVE TAG 8"
Artist: "Tagged by MediaMonkey (Beta 975) (Second Try)"
Album Artist: "Tagged by MediaMonkey (Beta 975) (Second Try)"

Instead, it's displaying the original MusicMatch data, regardless of how many times I edit the tags:

Title: "WAVE TAG 1"
Artist: "Tagged by MusicMatch Jukebox"
Album Artist: "Tagged by MusicMatch Jukebox"

(See my original message for steps to reproduce this.)

Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Thanks,

--- Scott

Fixed in 2.5.4.974 (RC-1)

MMJB .wav tags

by sunspot » Wed Jul 26, 2006 5:03 am

Yeah, they're MMJB-tagged .wav files. I edited a bunch of them in the library, mostly due to problems MM has reading accented characters (at least, out of the MMJB tags). Then I synchronized the files. When I ran the unsynchronized files view though, MM indicated those tags hadn't changed.

Anyhow, now I'm converting everything to FLAC, and so far it seems to be working out OK. It just takes forever, since I opted for maximum compression, but that's not really MM's fault.

2000 files down, about 2000 to go . . .

@sunspot
You refer to MMJB updated Tags after add to MM library and Sync or?

Tried the Beta

by sunspot » Tue Jul 25, 2006 4:27 pm

It sorta works. It reads the year tag now, which is great, but it doesn't seem to take updates for whatever reason. I'll update the tag info, synchronize, and when I rescan the tags in they still contain the old info.

It also seems to have trouble with accented characters.

I just went thru, fixed what I could in the library, then began converting the files to FLAC. Seems to be working well so far. I'm glad to be getting away from .WAV files and toward a format better suited to storing music. It also looks like I'm gonna save between 60 - 90 gigabytes of drive space, which is nothing to sneeze at! That'll make it much easier to backup my library.

MMJB .wav tags

by sunspot » Sat Jul 22, 2006 2:41 pm

How's the fix on this going? Do you need anyone to help test it? I've got a large library of MMJB-tagged .wav files, some of which have standard .wav tags as well, and would be happy to see how Media Monkey handles them.

Sunspot
