Now I'm not positive I understand your question, but here is an example.
I assume you have tracks with tracks #s in the title tag so it displays like this:
Highlight the tags and use CTRL-T to get rid of the track number (and put it in the right tag):
Then it won't show in the title of the library listing and you can, optionally, right lick on the track# column head in the library and turn it off to get this display (which I assume you want):
But the track filenames still have the track #:
C:\Storage\downloads\Horace Silver Quintet\The Jody Grind\01-The Jody Grind.mp3
