Exactly!
I had the brushed skin, then installed the latest update, & this is when I noticed the non-skinned mention began appearing in task mgr...

Here is a question. Did you at some point install MediaMonkey with skins and at an other point without skins (can be set in installation options)?

If so MediaMonkey might have a bug that if you update MediaMonkey but with a different skinning option that it creates a double entry (not deleting the other skinning option from the context menu).

Cool so your error was caused by monkey.

that made it simple. 8)

Fixed! I followed the instructions below to find the offender, there was open with mm & open with with mm non-skinned (I choose to delete the non-skinned); I have seen this non-skinned thing mentionned here & there on the forum; seems to be causing the problem, cause I never had any duplicate context menu entries before this one...

<<When right-clicking a file you may see an option called Open-With, which lists few number of programs on you computer to open the file with. To clear this list, or to remove the unwanted applications from the list (for the said file-type), follow these steps.

Click Start, Run, Type REGEDIT
Navigate to the following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ FileExts

Find the extension you wish to edit and click on the "+" sign to expand OpenWithList

( In the right pane, you will see a list with the programs, like "paint.exe", "notepad.exe" etc )

Click on the one you wish to delete and press the delete button

Problem#1 is gone, I can now edit cells from context menu.

At the same time, I notice the top right controls are back to the usual 5 round, mac style buttons (forgot to mention previously that other "issue") the y were down to the 3 familiar/universal button; minimize dash, toggle window size box(es) & close X.

I wouldn't mind doing the registry thing, I welcome any suggestions for the right keywords to google a way to fix this (& accept the risk).

You see, I told you I hadn't noticed a problem :lol:

i really hate to tell you this? but well okay i really don't hate to tell you but.

i been getting double choices like that for the last 5 years ( before i had monkey,) on all kinds of things it started with winamp it is a context menu error in windows.

just about every new program i been putting on my computers from win98 to winxp get this double listing only way to get rid of it is to go in to the registry and edit the hotkeys to remove one of them. only you better do that with a registry program or you will mess up your system.

i just ignore it and let it go as it does not bother me anymore. 8)

I never use this function but just checked to see for myself.
Mine is not doing what your screeshot shows. MediaMonkey - Audio Library is only shown once.

I have all my music files in one location.

Strange when you don't know there is a problem before others point it out...

After the install, I too noticed the "double monkey" when using the "open with" function:

Complete reinstall didn't fix it, same issues... :-?
btw, about second point, I hit the restore button to reassociate mp3's to wmp, but still duplicate choice of open with mm...

I dont have these problems. Perhaps a simple reboot will fix them? Or a reinstall?

A couple of issues since last MM update

Hi there,
since updating to v2.5.4.978, I notice different behavior from the old monkey;
1) while in library view, if I click a value cell to edit it, highlight the content, and right-click, cut, copy & paste options are now greyed out. CTRL-C (& X & V) still works but I'm left puzzled

2) when working from my windows explorer music folder, if I rightclick a song, choose "open with", I have 2 identical & consecutive "media monkey - media library" choices. I am guessing file association & go to folder options, file types, scroll down to .mp3, here's what I see under details;
"open with: windows media player, you have customized files with extensions 'mp3'. to restore these files to their default type (media monkey file), click restore". What happenned here?

Thanks in advance!
:D
