Motorola phones with iTunes

Hi giany911

Managed to get Album art to work on my V360V but no Picture on the startup screen.

Plus my Player Icons are way to the left, every thing else seems to be ok..

Any clues on how to fix this..?

I had lots of problems getting it to all work, problem was in the end my USB Cable, a Real Moto one.

Used the Sony one from my camera, works like a dream not.

MediaPlayer kept locking up when doing the Rebuild DB, plus even when trying to move files to a microSD card.

Mind you I thought it was my KINGSTON microSD card causing all these problems as Yuet warns people about this brand.

on my v3i while using itunes , i cant navigate to the next song by using the arrow keys, what happens is that the current song starts again...is it a settings problem or am I just doing it wrong Help please

Can someone give me a low down on:

a) How to use MediaMonkey to transfer songs onto my iTunes on my SLVR L7 phone
b) How to get album art on it as well.

DAP doesn't support album art as far as I know.

I wonder if I can get this to work on my RAZR V3i that doesn't have iTunes but has the Motorola Digital Player.

So far I can sync effortlessly but have had problems with bit rates above 128 (Fixed via the conversion setup) and no art.

From what I can see of giany911 screenshots my player is no different only doesn't have the dedicated iTunes "button"

This feature is included as of 2.5.5.980 (until 2.5.5 is released, this can be found in the beta forum).

I DID IT! I just disabled the autoconversion feature, and voila! I have album art....

I know I'm terrible at this...

It is NOT possible to sync this phone with desktop iTunes. iTunes simply does not recognize these phones as iPods (or any other device). But it syncs perfectly with MediaMonkey

Just no artwork. I'm not certain if the artwork is not being read properly by iTunes on the phone, or if MediaMonkey has to do something different with these phones...

So on that unbranded phone synching with iTunes works fine but not with MM? If so, please do what I've already described here several times, i.e. synchronize one track with album art with iTunes, send me synchronized files (with their locations), etc.

OK, I've had great success with my Motorola V3i with iTunes. I get perfect syncing and album art on my phone.

However, I've also got an unbranded European SLVR which I can only get to sync without album art. I simply get a black box where the artwork should be. I know this was brought up by someone else, but this is different issue because this phone does NOT come with iTunes preinstalled.

Like I said, syncing with MM is perfect! But there must be some other issues regarding the file structure? iTunes version installed? I don't know

Would it be possible to have the creator of the iPOD.dll to make a SLVR version or blend it into the existing version?

What can I send to him?

OK HERE'S THE DEAL!

if no songs show up in itunes on your phone.

1. plugin phone
2. in MM safely right click and "safely remove device"
3. unplug phone
2. plugin phone and the windows autoscan should run and update the phone. ( a list of songs on the phone will also now appear in MM )
3. you don't need to "safely remove" the device again ( i believe the problem is here, so don't do it! or do it and notice everything is gone again...)
4. just unplug the phone and enjoy

pain in the butt. yes.

WHAT I'D LIKE TO SEE!

1. bypass usb interface necessary to update the database. I'd prefer to update it from my card reader, after of course the intial db is there or is copies there *easiest* - so we don't need itunes on the computer fighting for usage to to open contantly if it's still installed.)

ok so somehow when I plugin my usb to my SLVR it doesn't detect it as a drive. you'll notice this because the autoplay scan of the drive doesn't appear.

Finally I got things back in order once

1. I did a direct synch to the card using windows media player.
2. with both MediaMonkey and Windows Media Player open -- I plugged in and unplugged my usb cable to the phone twice.
3. on the 2nd go round - the computer autoscanned the phone (appeared in both in MM and WMP) and could do a "rebuild database" with no problem in MediaMonkey.

It took me forevre to get it to work but happy now. kinda... IT TOOK FOREVER! I also deleted Apple's Itunes since it wouldn't stop opening when I plugged in my usb cable into the phone. i figured it was Fn up the db as well probably...

ok looks like you also MUST do a right click on the phone and "safely remove device" before it works again and autoplay scans the phone.

crap it's not working now. I've been trying to format the memory card. start fresh on itunes and start a new db and go to MM to add songs and update the db but it aint working anymore!^@$%!@*&^$^%

Hey man! I would like to know HOW you uptade your DB file! Cos i just uploaded many files into my V3i but cant play them using itunes. Maybe im uploading them to toe wrong folder?
