Thanks! Also it's a 4 step processto have your cuts labled automaticaly.

On splitting the LP tracks into MP3's ensure that you save each track as "Track ##" (you have to use 2 numbers such as "01") and save them within a folder named after the Artist - album cover name.

1)Then in MM scan the new folder(s) only into MM.
2) Auto tag the folder using Filename.
3) Auto tag the folder using Amazon. If it doesn't find it try over typing the Artist leave a space or two and album name, then hit search. Select the appropriate album from the drop down box and hit auto tag.
4) Now close out the window and do a Auto Org on the folder and you have just renamed the tags and file to match the Album.

Isn't that great! No more finger blunders in long song titles.

You don't have to include the artist in the filename, just change the mask to whatever you desire.

Make my Day! I have just started using MM and didn't realize that Auto Org could do that. Now when I rip my LP's to MP3's I just have to lable each cut by it's track #. Auto Tag the LP using Amazon and then follow-up with the Auto Org to complete the job. I'm not too keen on the Artist being in the file name but I can take care of that with "Rename Wizzard".

I realize that I would have to rescan the folder back in but in all cases that PC is doing the work.

Thanks - I can add this to the guy who is looking for help in naming cuts from his LP ripping.

This is what the Auto-Organize Files feature does. Just configure the mask to get the desired result. You can even create a complete folder structure like C:\<artist>/<album>/<title> or something more complex like C:\Music\<Album Artist:1>\<Album Artist>\[<Year>] <Album>\<Artist> - <Track#> - <Title>

Mask configuration is covered in the help.

Reverse Tagging - using Tag title to rename the file

Is it possible to auto rename a filename.mp3 to match the ID3 tag title?

If I rip a CD w/o access to the Internet I get Unknown......Track #.mp3 as a file name. If I use MM Autotag from Amazon and over ride the unknown Album to match the artist and album name then repeat the search I get the Tag info. If I apply it the tags are updated but the file name remains untouched as expected. But now that I have the Tag info imbedded in the file can I do an auto rename of the file adding the extension .mp3 using the title info from the tag? As it stands now I have to manually rename each cut. Is it possible using some type of scripting?
