Wow, Winamp did just what I wanted...

So Winamp doesn't have this duplicate song problem? I am fed up with MM and not being able to make a playlist without duplicating songs. Maybe I'll try Winamp.

Adding songs to ipod already on ipod

by marioval » Mon Jan 08, 2007 10:37 am

I have a 2GB nano so I cannot sync my entire library. I pick and choose which songs to add. Occasionally I Add a song that I didn't realize was already there. When I use winamp I get the progress box that says 0 songs added and it takes about half a second. When I do it with MM, 1 of 2 things happen. 1. it will add the song and overwrite the existing one so it is not duplicated but it still goes through the process so my complaint on that is that it wasted time. 2. It adds the song then It's on the ipod twice, my complaint there is same as the first complaint plus having duplicate entries and wasted space. So here is my obvious question. How can I get MM to recognize that the song is already there and have MM take no action? thanks
