I agree. Now I first have to save to tag and then run the Trixmoto Art tagger script to extract the art from the tag to the folder.

It would also be great to include options to Replace old albumart (not only Add the new one) and to Use on all tracks of album when tagging from Amazon. (I have spent a lot of time replacing old 200x200 art with newer in better quality...)

I add my vote to that list as well.

I'm voting for it, too.

Another vote for this feature

so they should then ask for
the inclusion of a third option
" Save to Tag and Copy to Folder C:\..... "
I think it would be cleaner to change the radio buttons to check boxes. Or, if we really don't want to let people save the art to both the album folder and a common folder, those two could be radio buttons and there could be a check box for embedding it in the music file. But I think all check boxes is cleaner and clearer.

I use Xbox Media Center as my main media unit in my home (both in my living room and bedroom). If the artwork is called folder.jpg inside the host folder, the media center (as well as some other media players on PC) will display that folder with the artwork (instead of a folder icon).

Unfortunately, to get this working under MM, I need to
Rip the CD
Run the album art tagger script from trixmoto
1) Extract from Tag to Mask -> <album>\folder
2) Remove artwork (delete from tag) [process 3]
3) Embed from MASK to Tag -> <album>\folder

It's a bit of a pain, but it works.

oh okay glad you helpped me see what they want.

although i don't agree with the reason of wanting it.

i only use media monkey to show artwork and play most music.
i just would think that this might be handy to back up
the album art on your system.

It is :D personally i'd like to have a folder with all my album covers so I can look at.

@ rovingcowboy

I think what you have said is exactly what was asked for.

by rovingcowboy » Thu Jan 18, 2007 1:59 pm

you mean they want to have both options for one song format?

so they should then ask for

the inclusion of a third option

" Save to Tag and Copy to Folder C:\..... "

in the above the C:\.. would be a text mask line like in the auto organize feature.

that seems like a good idea if that is what they are in fact wanting.

rovingcowboy

I think what they want is the option to have both options selected?

Not sure why, perhaps people like to have the image to manipulate in other programmes - so for that reason?

by rovingcowboy » Thu Jan 18, 2007 8:01 am

i don't get it?

what don't you have with the tags on mp3's.

i use ogg files.

in the properties of the song when you click the album art panel there is an option to add to all albums you can check that and the art will be linked to every album with the same album artist that one song you selected has.

when you clcik on the add button and find the artwork to add.
there are two options that show up after you click open on the windows search panel.

you will get a smaller confirmation panel for the art work. on that panel is where you see those two options. one says save to tags if possible. the other says link to file.

using mp3 format song when you add this ablum art you then click on the save to tags if possible.

it will save the artwork in the tags of the mp3 file. but if you have a file on the same album that is an ogg file then it will link to the album art for that ogg file.

but every file that is able to save art to the tags of the file monkey will save them there.

so what is missing?
just a simple way of selecting the option? 8)

i agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes a both option would be nice.

by ninerays » Sun Sep 11, 2005 11:33 pm

Yes this would be good for me as well.
Also the ability to decide which fields to use for the image file name would be great as well (already requested in Forum). That way it would save me typing the artist's name each time.
