I think if the tracks were identical it would not duplicate, but since you changed the bitrate, it sees them as new tracks.

Well, I decided to sync the last playlist using a rule to convert any MP3 files ripped at 320K down 10 192K VBR. Some of the tracks in this last playlist have already been copied to the iPOD as a result of syncing a previous playlist.

On the iPOD, I now have two versions of each of these redundant tracks: one at 320K and one at the converted VBR. Now I have to go back and manually delete the 320K versions. To top it all off, I have to do this while the iPOD is syncing (converting bit rate on a 2600 track list takes a looong time) as otherwise it may run out of drive space.

Is there a better way? Is there some parameter to instruct MM to overwrite the tracks? Frustrating...

I'm using search and the help files before posting. I'm a newbie to MM and struggling a bit as I am I used to the way WMP11 and Anapod work (or don't work as the case may be). I'm really hoping that MM will work for me. So hopeful in fact that I already purchased a Gold Lifetime license.

Anyone know the answer to my sync question, or am I overlooking the answer in the docs somewhere?

I'm syncing a number of large playlists exported from WMP11. A fair number of tracks are common within the playlists. As I sync these playlists, will MM recognize that the track is already on the iPOD and skip it or will it just overwrite? I'm hopeful it will skip already loaded tracks as that will tremendously speed up the process.
