I tried to make a CD with NO folders, that is, all the music in the root. No joy. I'll check the manual, but I am not 100% certain that the owner's manual is exactly a match to this player (it was a used car, and i believe the manual was pulled from another, simliar car). Thanks for the reply.

I'd be checking the manual/internet for the player. It may be that the file and folder structure is very restrictive. ie only one folder deep.

Making Car Stereo MP3 Disc

OFF TOPIC

I have never had a car player that support MP3 files, and just got a 2004 Hyundai with a CD player that supports MP3/WMA files. Well, I tried to make an MP3 disc, and it just sat in the player saying "FILE CHECK". I did another test making an Audio CD and also a WMA disc, both of which worked fine.

Is there some trick to making MP3 CD's that a CD player can read?

MM-RELATED:

Assuming I just go with the WMA format, is there someway to make MM convert on-the-fly to WMA from my library (which is all in MP3 format) as it burns a CD?
