Thanks for the INI info. The final behavior may be expected, but it would be nice if the confirmation dialog showing the "New Path" and "Old Path" would show that actual paths MM will use.

In my example, the "New Path" DOES display with "...Twice Shy" in the path, whereas once it starts processing files, it does not actually use that path but does what you explained (removes the dots). The code producing the dialog doesn't appear to be using the INI file for substitutions - low priority UI issue but it was confusing when I couldn't find my files where I was told they would be.

That's correct, certain characters are reserved and will be removed when creating folder/filenames. dots at the start of folder/filenames cause files to be hidden on Linux systems (like many NASes) and thus are removed on file creation.

This is controlled by the MediaMonkey.ini.

If I try to convert Great White's "...Twice Shy" album, the output directory actually used by Media Monkey becomes "Twice Shy" (without the dots), despite MM saying it's going to use the correct directory in the dialog that pops up to confirm the conversion.

Not sure where else in the app this path code might be used so it should be looked into.
