Yes, if the files are in the same location, otherwise you need to do step 5.

right. step 4 talks about backing up database file.. what is the database file? click on 'database file' goes to another page that talks about going to file>manage database>backup database. with more options to figure out.
so I backed up a 'database file' to another drive, not c:

does this mean that when i reinstall MM, and restore the database, all will be as it is now? settings, jpgs (album covers)?
or are there other things to backup/restore.

This is covered in step 4 Step 4.

omg.. I already saw that crazy long instruction list for moving mm to another. Any list that long and complicated is a recipe for failure.
Which is why I am asking for clarification.

Are you saying that moving MM is not something the average user can accomplish? That MM will work whereever it is first installed, but after than the user may as well start over?

Why isn't there a simple 'export settings" function ?

MM 2024, on win 10/11

I am looking at clean install of win10/11. which means re-installing MM.
all music is on a different drive than the op sys (ie: music is not on c:)

if I copy all files and folders from 'user'>app data>roaming>media monkey 5, and replace in the new install, will I be back where I left re settings, album .jpg's, all other stuff?

or are there other files/folders that I need to transfer?
or, better, is there simply a command to export all necessary files/folders
