Most of PhaenA's concerns were alleviated in the folowing topics:

Audio settings in the posts above (MMFrLife, Lowlander) and,
Search Scope/File Listing

I Agree 100% with PhaenA above.

Quick Search searches the Filelisting only. So you'll need to select the Now Playing node.

What happens when you double click a song is user configurable under Tools > Options > Playback Rules.

You can change this from:
Tools > Options > Player > Auto DJ/Now Playing > Now Playing > retain "all" files.
Tools > Options > Player > Playback Rules > Music > Play selected only.

However, I do agree that some of the terms could be more clear or an additional option be added.
For ex., I can't get it to double click play to Now Playing by adding it to the end of the Now Playing list if there is a track currently playing
or there are no tracks playing but one was previously and is still in a bold state.
If there is a file currently playing in Now Playing or silent bold, double click adds and plays it in the next file position after
the one that was previously playing.

This happens when a playlist is loaded as well (although, with the above settings it won't wipe out what's already there).

Am I missing something, is MM missing something, or is it something I've just forgotten?

Wow, its now 2015 and I still agree wholeheartedly with this. If you have enqueued a playlist and its showing up in Now Playing, and you want to search for a particular song in that playlist and start playing it immediately, how can you do it?

If you search for a song and select the scope "File List" (which is totally confusing) from the drop-down menu, and the song shows up as a search result, then click on the song, it will summarily wipe out the playlist which is crazy.

Totally agree.

i guess both of these suggestions help a bit... it would be really nice to be able to enqueue files properly though! :)

Try switching the shuffle mode off and randomising your list. Then when you click Play Next it will, but the list will still be played in a random order.

Perhaps all it needs is a "Play after next" option ( or something along those lines).

In the meantime, here's something I came up with that that might accommodate your preference.

1. Disable shuffle

2. In Tools>Options>Player>Auto-DJ/Now Playing:

Enable Auto DJ and set to -

"Automatically maintain at least 1 upcoming tracks in Now Playing"

Select a Playlist or entire library to "Add tracks from"

"Automatically retain at most 0 tracks in Now Playing"

Click OK

3 Select a track to "Play next" Press the Play button on the Player. One track will also now be added by Auto DJ, after the selected track. This gets you started.

4 Add other manual selections by using the "Play last" option.

Summary:

The Auto DJ acts as the shuffle on the chosen Playlist or library.

You get the A,B,C effect on track selections.

There'll only ever be 1 non-manually selected track in the list, and even then, only when the tracks run out.

May not be absolute, but it's close.

sorry if this is a repost..

but this really irks me, personally... how you can't enqueue files in "now playing"... i always have my now playing set to shuffle... and i used to like how in winamp you could select a couple songs and make them "play next" and then when its done resume with the actual playlist...

in MM you can select "play next, play last, etc" but if "now playing" is set to shuffle, it will completely disregard that and play the next random song...

also, if you select "play next" it just adds the song to the next position in the now playing... and if you select play next again it makes that song "next" and the first one you had selected becomes the 3rd song in the sequence...

ideally, i'm listening to song A, i select song B to "play next" and then song C to "play next" as well, it should play A, B and C, and not A, C, B (which won't even happen anyway if random is selected.... )

i cant remember but i'm pretty sure i already posted regarding this...
it would be nice to see a feature like this for the next major release... funny how there's still a handfull of features winamp had that i really miss :(

anyways GL with everything and this doens't mean i regret paying for a gold license at all! 8)
