Hello, I use a Logitech Access keyboard. Maybe, I did'nt use the tips here appropriately, but it still doen't work. I tryed several ideas to paste into the players.ini, like the line:
MediaMonkey=wac,MediaMonkey.exe,Winamp v1.x,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx,0,1,MediaMonkey

So still doesn't work, and now?

by Change » Wed Feb 09, 2005 10:28 pm

YES!! After just making the changes to players.ini, it WORKS :D Finally I can switch back to MediaMonkey! THANK YOU!!

(Now if we could get a nice player window with album art like Radon does, I would be ecstatic ;))

I just installed the RC-2 and made the changes to the players.ini file. It seems to work. However, the Mediakey still doesn't. But, next and previous are working fine now, even when MM is minimized!

Great job!

No, I haven't yet. I asumed that I needed to update to the Setpoint drivers like you said in your post. I'm going to try tonight and let you know the result.

I.e. have you modified [Players] section of Players.ini file in iTouch folder?

Have you tried Rustys Solution?

I don't see how this works: installing the setpoint drivers makes all my Logitech keys unusable. It seems that Setpoint doesn't recongize my keyboard and mouse (Logitech Desktop Optical) and Windows therefor starts using native Windows drivers. I tried changing the drivers manually, but that didn't work out. So now the situation's still the same: to use all my keys on my Logitech kbd, I have to use iTouch and then the multimedia keys make MediaMonkey go wild. Using the standard (native) windows drivers is OK for MediaMonkey, but now I cannot use the other keys anymore ..... This doesn't seem to work ... :cry: :cry: :x

For all those that do not have Logitech and have problems with MM and Multimediakeys even if MM is Minimized, I have made small app that solves this. Only Thing needed is that your driver support start of external Application with Function Key.

Contact me over email if you want a solution as it is not yet uploaded to My fan Site.

Keyboard problems

fyi, the latest release candidate of MediaMonkey 2.3.1 includes a fix for this. Here's a copy of the relevant information from the readme:

Problems using multimedia keyboard player keys on some Logitech keyboards that have installed the old
iTouch drivers. These drivers are required to enable the keyboard to control MultiMedia applications
such as MediaMonkey, even when the application is minimized. However, the older drivers are not
configured by default to work with MediaMonkey and if the multimedia keys are used while MediaMonkey
is minimized, tracks keep skipping. To get around this you can do the following:
1) Update to the newest SetPoint drivers and make the changes described in 2)
2) Change the Players.ini file included with the keyboard drivers as follows:

[Players]
MediaMonkey=cmd,MediaMonkey.exe,Winamp v1.x,xxx,xxx,40045,40046,40047,40044,40048,0,1,MediaMonkey
MediaMonkeyNS=cmd,MediaMonkey (non-skinned).exe,Winamp v1.x,xxx,xxx,40045,40046,40047,40044,40048,0,1,MediaMonkey

[Players.Display]
MediaMonkey=MediaMonkey
MediaMonkeyNS=MediaMonkey

[Players.Seek]
MediaMonkey=cmd,40148,xxx,1
MediaMonkeyNS=cmd,40148,xxx,1

[Players.Rewind]
MediaMonkey=cmd,40144,xxx,1
MediaMonkeyNS=cmd,40148,xxx,1

[Players.BurnSupported]
MediaMonkey=True
MediaMonkeyNS=True

3) If the above doesn't work or if the problem occurs with a non-Logitech keyboard, add the following
to the mm.ini file:

[System]
InterceptMMKeys=0

Let me know if this works for you (note: don't bother trying with MM 2.2.2 -- you'll need to use MM 2.3.1 RC-1 or later).

Hi,

I just tried it again, and now disabling balloon tips in Windows (I assume that's the second option you meant), but I still have the same problem. Did you do anything else?

Using the latest Logitech drivers? Did you edit the Logitech file so it recognizes MM separately?

by Guest » Thu Nov 04, 2004 1:26 am

Hi again!
Yes I mean "Pop-up track info in tray", I use the german version (that's the reason of the difference).

Immediately after disabling these box in MM OR in Windows Settings it does work again.
Very strage, isnt it? What's up with the box?! :)

If you mean "Pop-up track info in tray", then disabling that did not help me. Still skipping tons of songs before it starts playing when I press next.

Hello!!!

Please try this...this solved the problem that is decribed here that MM skipps song when usíng the media buttons on keyboad. Here is the difference: I do not have a logitech keyboard but a Silitek, and as I said with the same problem.

Open Preferences Window and disable "song information in taskbar".

Then it really works.
So is it a programming error? I hope that it will be solved soon...

using most recent version of MM.

When using Jiri's example my play/pause button does not work correctly though.. I've now changed it to your version and waiting for a reboot. Will edit this post if that changed things to the better.
