The problem you will have is that the database stores a media ID (drive ID) in addition to the file locations.

Look through the forums as there are many threads discussing how to migrate your database (and files to a new computer). The smart thing to do would be to keep the folder structure the same, so that when you "relocate" your files, they will all be in relatively the same spot. Only the base of the tree and the drive ID will have changed.

Database backup

Hi All,

I need to copy a database from a computer to another but on a different drive name. Are the songs name coded with absolute paths in the .mdb file ? I mean, if I install MM on the second computer, add files like usual and replace the .mdb file with my old one, am I sure to keep all my Database settings ( Tempo, Quality...etc) ? I have mostly OGG files

Cheers,

The Ki

PS: what is the .ldb file in the MM directory (in "My Music") for ?
