Sleep timer fading

by rusty » Wed Nov 21, 2007 2:50 pm

No changes were made in RC2.
Are you saying that the intended interaction would make the volume back at whatever it was previously as soon as I started playing a track?
What I'd expect is that after a fade operation has completed, if the user starts playing music, it should play at the volume at which MM was prior to the fade operation (i.e. the fade operation would not be reflected in the UI).

But I can also see your point of view, that the fade operation should be visually presented. Perhaps it should work like Mute does. i.e. fade would visually fade the volume to zero. But once the Sleep Timer expired, volume would go back to its original setting.

It appears this bug has been fixed in rc2? What I would expect to happen is that the sleep timer with fade to zero should move the slider to zero as the volume changes so that when I come back to it in the morning the volume is at zero.

Sleep - low volume persists unnecessarily

Thx. I see a bug, but I'd state it a bit differently:

The problem is that the faded volume level remains even after Sleep operation has completed. What should happen is that after the sleep timer expires, volume should return to normal upon any UI interaction.

When you use sleep, the volume doesn't actually adjust to reflect the current volume. If I use sleep and come back later the volume slider is not at zero which is confusing.

using 1098 under win xp sp2
