This was solved already somewhere else okay guy's WHY???? -- I don't see dev-opinion there, but I assume they do not want to behave like MS. So, from their side there are things which are necessary to do, and so, we can ask for customisation. Maybe you can ask for disable option...

EDIT: DONE :) It seems users just have to cry out loud :D
thanks for telling me my post was replyed too. 8)
i have lost several days of new reply info. because the forum kept kicking me out for some reason and made all the new reply notices go to already seen.
:(
and thanks petrcbr, i have little hd space to use and i have to keep cleaning the cache out now, so that option will be well used. :D

i don't want it converting to the bmp at all. it is eating up my hd space and my cpu cycles.

i already have the jpgs on my system so the bmps to me are a waste of space and worker threads.

Thanks for the interaction. The thing was that I had this path set for sth else than win default for a week, and nothing appeared in that folder. So, I was wondering what's behind. And I really don't want to delete every other day the temp-albumarts just because I clean up the wins.

Oh. I see what do you mean. I'll make it possible to use covers cache using temp folder from this setting.

Of course, not. But that would be also not desired. Because, I do not want to have MM temp files (mostly the BMPs) mixed with win32 temp files. I could not find my answer in MM-helpfile nor in the forum: What does the setting at "General -> Temporary Folder (set path)" influence? Or, why is not this path detected?

We're using GetTempPath function for getting temporary folder. This function checks temp folder in this order :

1. The path specified by the TMP environment variable.
2. The path specified by the TEMP environment variable.
3. The path specified by the USERPROFILE environment variable.
4. The Windows directory.

So check these values if it's points to the same folder.

Hi,

I have my Temporary Directory set on my media drive (Q:\temp\), but MM still generates the BMP albumart previews to the C:\Docume~1\%USERNAME%\Local~1\Temp\. Why? I would like to have the BMPs stored separate, so MM does not have to generate all of them after I clean my TEMP directories, which are usually full because of other activity. the 100MB BMPs can be stored easily somewhere else.

In C:\Docume~1\%USERNAME%\Local~1\Temp\ there is nothing else than AlbumArts from MM, so far I can see.
