Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for the comprehension!
About issue #2: I understand that this may not be possible to "fix". I've noticed that in other programs the situation is the same with the window classes. I'm not a programmer (not yet :) ), but i suppose that could be a limitation of the programming code itself. So I understand if those controls should be defined as "trees" instead as "lists". So don't worry about issue #2.

And again - thank you very much!

k_kolev1985,

issues 1 and 3 will be fixed in next release.

Not a bad idea, but...

Hi,

Using a dark skin is not a bad idea, but the usage of skins will confuse my screen-reader and it won't work correctly in the MediaMonkey windows. That's why I'm using the non-skinned version - it's more screen-reader friendly.
But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I'm using the non-skinned version

Hi,

Yes, I'm using the non-skinned version of MediaMonkey. The skinned version is even harder to use with a screen-reader and those bright colors are difficult for me to see.

Hi,

I am not a developer, but are you using the non-skinned version?

Some things about MediaMonkey and accessibility

by k_kolev1985 » Thu Feb 07, 2008 7:36 am

Hello, MediaMonkey developers,

I have some issues regarding MediaMonkey and accessibility:
1. I'm a visually impaired PC user and therefore use Windows High-contrast color theme (basically black background and white text). This however gives me some troubles when using MediaMonkey (v3.0.2.1134). Most of the checkboxes in the preferences window are impossible to see if they are checked or not. No matter if they are checked or not, the only thing I see is a white square. The only exception are the checkboxes in the "Hotkeys" list (the ones that define if the hotkey is global or not) - when they are checked, there is an black "x" in them. The other exception are the so called "radio-buttons" for the visualization selection and for the output plug-in selection - they have some dark indication in them when selected (checked).
2. The list of files and the "Now playing" (playlist) list are defined as "tree", instead of "list" (I mean the so called "window class" is defined like this). And so are some other lists in the program. This confuses the screen-reader which I use (JAWS for Windows).
3. The player section in the MediaMonkey window uses white background and black text. Can't it use system colors like the rest of the application? The same applies for the "album art" section, but I don't use it and don't think is so much of importance.
Can you please fix those issues? Specially the first one regarding the checkboxes.
If you need any more information from me, you're welcome to ask.

P.S.: Sorry if the topic is not in the right section of the forum.

Thank you for the help in advance!

Best wishes!
