I just want to confirm that the issues mentioned are fixed with the new build. Now, I can use MM's auto-tag feature even with W2k - and I have to consider purchasing MM.

Thanks a lot!

Ok, please check it out in the next release, hopefully it will work fine there.

Two other issues:

MM does not shut down properly, it's still available in the task manager. When I restart it without killing the process at first, all folders on the left side are missing.
The location of the playlist is not saved. That means, after docking the pl, closing mm ans restarting it, the pl is missing.

Please e-mail me the whole debug log. Was this the only exception there?

Thanks,

Hi, I have just installed the new alpha version 2.5.896, but I still have this nasty Amazon auto tag error message. This time it's

Access violation at address 0060609A in module'MEDIAMONKEY_debug.EXE'. Read of address 000000

Hi! I am running MM 2.4.2.874 on this machine

OS Name Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
Version 5.0.2195 Service Pack 4 Build 2195
System Type X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 7 Stepping 3 GenuineIntel ~501 Mhz
BIOS Version Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
IE 5.000.372

I constantly get the same error at the same address. Have you found a workaround this bug?

win 98 access violation

Just an fyi: I've tested this on W98 with beta 3, but cannot reproduce.

by pah68 » Sun Jan 09, 2005 5:14 am

I've tried on several occasions to upgrade this one from IE5 to 6 but it fails that too.

I'd try to reinstall IE before you try to do so with the entire system. It could do the trick and would be much easier.

Yep, tried all that.
It's a pretty shitty Win98 install though. It wouldn't hurt for me to rebuild the entire system.

by Lowlander » Sat Jan 08, 2005 2:47 pm

Have you tried uninstalling completely and reinstalling MM? This sometimes helps with problems that the developers can't reproduce.

When uninstalling you might want to consider to delete the complete MM folder from program files after uninstall. This way you prevent that a possible bad script or plugin continues causing the same problem after reinstall.

In any case always try to generate a debug report before reinstalling MM.

Pah,

I modified the way the dialog is initialized, hopefully it will run better for you in the next release.
