OMG what a pain in the ass. I tried all the suggestions on sharing / security persmission, options, settings,... blah, blah, blah. Per the last and final suggestion in (one of) the threads I copied my music folder to my desktop from the My Documents folder and then copied everthing from my XP to Vista machine.

The only thing I did manage to do fromt he sharing / security section was to change my Vista Music folder from the blue/green color to yellow! Wonder what that's all about? lol

try this

New Computer and problems with Vista?

by Skullneck » Fri May 30, 2008 6:23 pm

Hey, I just built a new machine running Vista 64-bit and I am having a problem copying files from my old mahcine. :-(

When copying a bunch of folders from one machine (XP) to the new one running Vista I'm getting an error and it won't let me copy some of the files. I get the error message "Destination Folder Access Denied" and forces me to skip copying the file. This really blows. I've had no problem in the past backing up my library to a nother XP computer over the network.
