If so, MM is passing the wrong functionailty to the OS. It is MM that's showing the [+], so it's MM that should ensure the results accord.

I am not a programmer for MM but if I was to take a guess.

The file is likely being transferred from one folder to another folder on the same drive. I suspect that when the file is dragged and dropped, MM passes the functionality over to the OS. The OS will move the file when it is on the same drive. If you dragged to a different drive, the file should be copied.

That's just my educated guess. Take it with a grain of salt.

On CTRL-drag of a track from the tracklist to a My Computer folder, MM
offers copy (i.e. shows [+] on the mouse pointer), but on completion, the
original is gone. In other words, the copy operation does (what appears to
be) a move rather than a copy.
