Running the EXE is sufficient, although I am assuming it is sufficient because each account I run it on Vista is setup as an administrator. I don't know if it makes a difference if it is run as an admin the first time or any subsequent time, but I always do the first install as an admin. Each installation after that is using the normal installation processes.

Thanks. I will do another base install for 1190 and 1208 via Run as Administrator. That should cover both 3.0 and 3.1 issues.

Nyn. Is running the installer EXE as Administrator sufficient, or, does it need a true Admin user install to avoid future install problems? I am starting to feel that I was overly masochistic when I replaced my failing XP system with a Vista system. Thought that by SP1 it would be clean.

I have not seen that anyone has offered a definative answer on when or why Vista requires an administrative user to install. So, I always install the first time as an admin to avoid future problems. FYI I installed as a normal user. Have not tried installing as an admin yet.

I can confirm this problem. The first time I startet the new build it crashed. Then I ran MediaMonkey as admin, closed it and restarted it again. Now it seems to work.

I have not had this problem, I am able to install and run as a normal user. When you installed did you install as an administrator or a normal user?

This is the first build I've seen this in - 1207 run fine as a normal user. For 1208 you need to be admin or it just falls down.
