wolffset,
thank you, you seem to be right.
It is broken:

In my case the file plays only for 40 seconds on the iPod/iPhone and then plays from start again.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download dBpoweramp
2. Convert an file larger than 1 minute to Apple Lossless
3. Sync the file by using MM 3.1 (I tested MM 3.1.1228)
4. Play the file on iPod/iPhone

Well... I have uninstalled MM and re-installed it using version 3.0.7.1191
:D
No problems copying ALAC files to my iPod and playing them without any strange occurencies. So I will stick with this one for the time coming...

You can send files through an online service like YouSendIt or [http://rapidshare.de]RapidShare[/url].

:(
Regarding sending one of those ALAC files: Problem is that the size of these files is rather large... 8)
More than 11 MB for a 2-minute tune... So I am afraid I can not send you a sample. Don't you have some possibilities to encode such a track yourself?

Yes true, that's what I mean. I will send you a file to your specified address.
I am not quite sure up to which version it did work OK. I have found on EXE file in my archive: 3.0.3.1183
I guess this one worked OK, though I did not try that lately and I am not sure if I upgraded from this version directly to the mentioned beta...

I suppose that by "Apple Loseless" you mean ALAC files into an MP4 container?
Could you send me one of the files so that I could try to reproduce? My adreass is <ls <at> mediamonkey(dot) com>
Could you specify what is the last version in which it worked?

syncing "Apple lossless" with 3.1.0.1224 ?? BUG#5409

by wolffsed » Fri Mar 20, 2009 2:54 pm

After having praised MM3 yesterday I had to learn today that something must have changed in version 3.1.0.1224 compared to what I had before... 8)

I am using "Apple lossless" to encode most of my music. That worked OK in the past: I could sync my files to my 80GB iPod with no problems. Now I have got another iPod with 120GB and synced more files to this device using the above mentioned version.

Problem is that the tracks start playing back OK, but after approx. 90 seconds I cannot hear any more sound. The progress bar seems to freeze, though after quite a while the next tracks starts playing - for another 90 seconds, then no sound again...

I had thought that my second iPod might be the problem. But when copying new files to the 80GB iPod I'm getting the same problem there too! I have tried another software to transfer data and this worked OK...

I am puzzled!
Could someone please let me have some advice? Thanks.
