I read a test review on a P.C. site. The author asked his son to compare it with the free Fedora/Ubuntu. He couldn't tell the difference. :D

As for the Google OS. I can see the little oiks queueing up ready to hack it to pieces.

Open Source - The way to go.

See:
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/window ... ,6965.html
http://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/02/0 ... e-possible

Those confirm that a clean install of Windows 7 is required for Windows XP users. Anyway this is the best way to upgrade Windows and a clean install will give a better performance.

That just make no sense! I don't think Miscrosoft will trow away all its XP consumers that didn't upgrade to Vista... :-?

No, until then, wait for Windows 8. http://blogs.zdnet.com/microsoft/?p=2559

RC1 is up and running, just wondering what you lovely people thought of it?

The new UI looks amazing if I'm honest; I'm on Vista at the moment but use ObjectDock to make things look pretty, but it seems I wouldn't need to with 7.. I've also read many improvements on networking, organising and performance of 7 over Vista.

My question is: with the RC1 being valid for a year, if I do install it, live with it, then after the year is up Microsoft tell me to pay £££ to keep it.. what then? Would I be able to go back to Vista? Would I lose data etc etc..? I am just a bit confused as to what the deal is really.
