Correction, you should not share the .ini file but instead change it on every computer!

Here is how todo it: (Quoted from the great Lowlander)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
MM stores all information about the songs and the playlist in one database file. You can use that DB file on multiple computers.

Here is some guidance on how to:
- You need to make sure that all file paths for songs in MM are the filepath thru the network (also when working on the local PC for the songs). So you need to setup sharing for the location(s) where the songs are located. (TIP: never share the drive completely, just subfolders, for security).

- You need to share the location of the DB. It might be useful to move the DB file to the location where the songs are shared. You can located the DB either in the Program Files/MediaMonkey/data folder or the My Documents/My Music/MediaMonkey folder. Or search for it. The DB file name is MediaMonkey.mdb.

- Tell MM on each PC where the DB is. You need to located the mediamonkey.ini file which in either the Program Files/MediaMonkey/ folder or the My Documents/My Music/MediaMonkey folder. Locate the following text: [System] and create a new line under it with: DBNAME = path/MediaMonkey.mdb.

The sharing of one DB has been discussed many times on the forum and also how to move the location for files in the DB. Search for more info if you need more.

Hope this helped.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

And again good luck!

As far as understand. The rules applies to networks as well. As long as you store the .ini file, DB and the music files on a location where the two computers could read/write. It should work.
I have not tried this myself but I think I've read in a thread that others have done it with succes.

Good luck!

Thanks Bex but this does not appear to answer my question.

I only have on user an each pc but I want to know if you can have the same database on two different networked computers.

I read most of the readme and it does not seem to cover this.

Hi Balinsky,

It's described in the read me file found in the sticky in this section.
Here you go:
"c) Shared environments
If you wish to share MediaMonkey's configuration file and or database among multiple users:
i) Move the MediaMonkey.ini file to the \Program Files\MediaMonkey directory. This will cause
all users to have the same MediaMonkey settings, however, you must make sure that all
users have appropriate permissions to read/write to this directory.
ii) Ensure that your MediaMonkey database has correctly set permissions so that all users
can read/write to the database."

I want to use same library on two networked PCs

I am using two networked pcs with mediamonkey and it would be very useful if I could use the same library.

If anyone could elighten me on how to do this it would be greatly appreciated.
