Boramis,

I can no longer replicate this in 1447. If you're still able to, please send a debug log?

Thanks.

Hi Boramis,

I'm not sure I understand. The default 'Summary format' for the Artviews should be:
$if(<Album>,<Album Artist>,<Artist>)
$if(<Album>,<Album>,$if($viewmode=3,$if($groupcount=1,<Title>)))

When I test with that or with the settings you described, performance is fine. Even prior to caching. Also once the Art is cached, subsequent runs of MM are much faster.

So the question is what's going wrong with the caching in your environment... I'll PM you for some more specific info....

[1435] Show Art + Details sorted by summary is slow [#8416]

I have the display set to Album Art + Details, sorted by the Summary column, with the "Art View" under "Playback Rules" swapped to <Album Artist>/<Album> so it sorts by the artist first. When I first load Media Monkey scrolling using the mouse wheel is extremely slow. Every new page displayed pauses scrolling and you can see it redraw each album + its songs one at a time, so it takes around a full second to display 7 albums. Once it's done that for a set of albums scrolling back to them is fast, and once you've scrolled through the entire list a couple of times it's silky smooth, but until then it's unpleasant. Whatever caching it's doing is apparently thrown out when it's closed, because the effect returns every time I restart MediaMonkey. I don't know when exactly the problem started, but it wasn't an issue before the Album/Artist column changes discussed in this thread. In earlier betas it was fast all the time, and seemed to pre-load the art, so scrolling was never slow, and the art was immediately available (unlike MM3).
