This is now fixed in the sense that it no longer crashes the MM4 front end. The DMC app still doesn't work properly, but that is probably due to the app itself - oddly the app allows files from the DLNA server to be played on the phone, it allows files on the phone to be played on the MM4 renderer but doesn't allow files from the DLNA server to be played on the DLNA renderer.

Thanks
John

Thanks. It should be fixed in 1450.

Please confirm.

Eurekalog entry from 1448 crash (there doesn't seem to be one generated from 1449) can be downloaded here.

Thanks

Just checked out M4As, and this seems to be a different issue that I will raise seperately. Soem still fail via UPnP even when there is no 3rd party DMC.

Hi - yes - I sent an automatically generated debug report when it crashed and will test with version 1449. Just tested 1449 and this time MM4 process just disappeared again - no error etc and nothing in "event viewer". The "Connected Media" WP7 app is klugey, so it could well be that that's causing the issue, but I wouldn't expect it to be able to kill mediamonkey.exe so effectively.

I've also tested with 1449 & 4u2Stream and this now plays wavs and mp3s consistently, but it seems to be rendering m4a files as JPGs? I'll investigate this one later.

Thanks
John

Hi, I just tested with several UPnP controllers including the 4u2Stream and I haven't reproduced any crash. So I guess that the crash seems to be related only to the "Connected Media" Digital Media Controller app on your WP7 phone? Unfortunatelly I haven't the phone and the standard log doesn't say much except that it crashed when you played a WAV file. Could you verify that it is not specific to WAV files? MP3 works fine?
If it is WAV specific then re-test with build 1449 please, there was a regression related to WAV playback, see: http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=8553

Did you send the automated debug error report when it crashed? See item 4a here: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=6&t=341

It also now plays with 4u2Stream as the DMC, though it's a bit hit and miss to be honest - mp3s seem OK, wavs less so.

Just tested with 1448 and this fails as well, though a little more gracefully - there is actually an error that appears on screen with "Access violation at address 11FF3DF7 in module 'UpNp.dll'. MM4 debug log can be downloaded here. The good news is that it played OK this time whilst my WP7 phone was the DLNA server rather than from a MM4 DLNA server, which it didn't at 1442.

Weirdly, I've just tried it again and if I don't OK the "Access Violation" message, eventually it starts playing what it's supposed to, though as soon as I ok the message mediamonkey.exe dies.

You should update to build 1448. In build 1445, they fixed some bugs related to the UPnP Renderer.

I've just tried this using 4u2Stream Deluxe and this also kills the mediamonkey.exe process on the renderer machine.

Pushing DLNA content to MM4 kills MM process [#8559]

Hi - if I use the "Connected Media" Digital Media Controller app on my WP7 phone to push DLNA content, from either the phone itself or from a MM4 DLNA server, to a MM4 DLNA renderer this seems to cause the process MediaMonkey.exe to die. Not a major problem as using MonkeyTunes and Remote for WP7 gives a much nicer user experience, but thought you ought to know as whatever happens it shouldn't kill the process. I've obviously got "Allow control of MediaMonkey player via UPnP/DLNA" selected in Media Sharing.

Let me know if you'd like debug logs etc.
