I would like to report a similar situation and worse results. 30 podcasts, a refresh without any downloads is about three and a half minutes, which is several times as long as it took in version 3. Even with downloads set to concurrent, it is obvious that the feed content is not being downloaded or updated in parallel.

The concurrent download option was available in MM3 (and MM2 if memory serves), plus in earlier versions it updated feeds in parallel.
