If completely deleted:

1. Why can it not be found by any undelete program

2. Why, when the process is repeated exactly, does MediaMonkey disallow renaming with the same filename

In other words: where has the date gone?

It is completely deleted, but this is due to a bug. MediaMonkey doesn't remove files from the Library unless you tell it to and you didn't (the removal is due to a bug).

If deleted, why can it not be found in the recycle bin, why can it not be undeleted?

If deleted, why does MediaMonkey report file exists, replace?, when the procedure is exactly repeated?

You're right the file actually is deleted.

MediaMonkey gives no file address, only filename.mp3.

Try it yourself: clear the whole File path entry, rename, refresh, gone.

Have you checked the folder where MediaMonkey reports the file exists?

Using 3.2.5.1306:

Properties, File Path, rename file, but inadvertently delete all but filename.mp3: refresh: file vanishes from the directory and drive; not listed anywhere with any search, nor is it to be found with 2 undelete programs.

Okay: another file: replicate same procedure exactly, now told filename.mp3 already exists, replace?

Where has the file gone, where is it hiding?

Anybody?

Thankyou.
